Testosterone Therapy Is Medicine — Not A Supplement
Testosterone therapy can be life-changing for the right patient, but proper diagnosis, individualized dosing, and ongoing monitoring are important.
Potential Risks & Side Effects
Why Urologist Oversight Matters
Planning To Have Children?
Testosterone therapy can reduce sperm production and may affect fertility. If preserving fertility is important to you, alternative treatment options may be considered. We'll discuss your goals before treatment begins.
Our Goal Isn't Just Higher Testosterone
Our goal is to help you feel better, improve your quality of life, and maintain long-term health. Every treatment plan is individually tailored and overseen by an experienced Nevada urologist.
What Can You Do On Your Own?
Lifestyle changes may not replace testosterone therapy when levels are truly low, but they can significantly improve overall health and help support healthy hormone levels.
Exercise
Regular resistance training and physical activity can help maintain muscle mass, improve energy, and support healthy testosterone levels.
Lose Excess Weight
Excess body fat is associated with lower testosterone levels. Even modest weight loss may improve hormone balance and overall health.
Improve Sleep
Poor sleep and untreated sleep apnea are common causes of fatigue and can contribute to lower testosterone levels.
Eat Smart
A balanced diet rich in protein, vegetables, healthy fats, and minimally processed foods supports overall health and hormone function.
Not Every Man Needs Testosterone
Low energy, weight gain, reduced libido, and erectile dysfunction can sometimes be caused by sleep apnea, obesity, thyroid disorders, diabetes, depression, medication side effects, or other medical conditions. Our goal is to identify the cause of your symptoms and recommend the most appropriate treatment—not automatically prescribe testosterone.
TRT Questions Answered
Everything you need to know about testosterone therapy at Harder Naturally.
How much does it cost to get started?
Our starter laboratory panel is just $99 and includes Total Testosterone, Complete Blood Count (CBC), and Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP). Additional testing may occasionally be recommended based on your results and medical history.
Do I need a home test kit?
No. We use certified laboratory testing rather than finger-prick mail-in kits. Patients may choose local laboratory testing, home blood draw services, or office-based options when available.
Who reviews my results?
Your laboratory results and symptoms are personally reviewed by Dr. Michael Kaplan, an experienced Nevada urologist with over 20 years of experience treating men's health conditions.
How do I know if I qualify for TRT?
Testosterone therapy is generally considered when patients have symptoms of testosterone deficiency along with laboratory evidence of low testosterone levels. Every patient receives an individualized evaluation.
How is testosterone administered?
Most patients use modern, low-volume subcutaneous injections that can be administered comfortably at home. Depending on your needs and preferences, other treatment options may also be discussed.
Will I have to visit your office?
Not necessarily. Many patients complete much of the process remotely. We offer convenient laboratory options, telemedicine visits when appropriate, and ongoing monitoring.
How do I receive my medication?
Patients may choose discreet home delivery from a licensed pharmacy or convenient pickup at many major local pharmacies, depending on their preference and treatment plan.
Can I improve my testosterone levels and still preserve fertility?
Often, yes. Traditional testosterone replacement therapy may reduce sperm production and affect fertility. However, men who wish to preserve fertility may be candidates for alternative treatments which can help stimulate the body's natural testosterone production. During your evaluation, Dr. Kaplan will discuss the safest and most effective option based on your goals, age, laboratory results, and future family plans.
Can I have my blood drawn at home?
Yes. Many patients choose convenient mobile phlebotomy services that can collect laboratory specimens at their home or workplace. Traditional laboratory testing is also available for those who prefer to visit a local lab.
Do I have to stay on testosterone forever?
Not necessarily. Some men remain on therapy long-term because they enjoy the benefits and continue to meet treatment criteria. Others choose alternative therapies that stimulate natural testosterone production. Treatment decisions are individualized and reviewed regularly with Dr. Kaplan based on symptoms, laboratory results, and personal goals.
How soon will I feel results?
Many patients notice improvements in energy, mood, motivation, libido, and overall well-being within the first several weeks of treatment, although individual results vary. Some benefits may continue to improve over several months.
